Installing MovieMaster on your hosting takes five steps. You don't need the command line: everything runs through a browser-based installer.
1. Download the package #
From My account → Downloads you get the zip of the latest core version. If you don't have a license yet, you can buy one on the pricing page.
2. Upload the files #
Upload the contents of the zip to your hosting's public folder (usually public_html or www), via FTP, SSH or your panel's file manager (cPanel, aaPanel, Plesk...).
If your hosting runs nginx (aaPanel, for example), paste the server rules once before going on: they are in Server settings for your panel. With Apache or LiteSpeed (cPanel and almost all shared hosting) there is nothing to do.
3. Create the database #
Create an empty MySQL or MariaDB database (or use SQLite if your hosting allows it) and write down the username, password and database name: the installer will ask for them.
4. Open /install #
Visit https://yourdomain.com/install in your browser. The wizard asks for:
- Your database details.
- The site name and the administrator's email.
- The main language (and whether to enable Spanish and English at once).
- Your license key (optional at this step: you can activate it later from the panel).
5. Add the scheduled task (cron) #
MovieMaster needs a task to run every minute for the job queue (imports, images, license checks):
* * * * * php /path/to/your/site/bin/console.php cronIt must run every 1 minute; root or the site's user both work (when root starts it, MovieMaster switches to the owner of the site by itself). The installer and the panel give you the exact line for your server; the step by step for each panel (aaPanel, cPanel, HestiaCP) is in Server settings for your panel.
That's it, your site is live. The natural next step is to import your first catalog from TMDB.
